International Dog Day is celebrated on August 26 annually and was founded by Animal Welfare Advocate and Pet Lifestyle Expert Collen Paige. International Dog Day celebrates all dogs, mixed breed and pure. Its aim is to help galvanise the public to recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year, either from public shelters, rescues and pure breed rescues.
